|
Audience:
Software
Engineers, Developers, Programmers and
Database Administrators responsible for
the development or maintenance of
application systems that access an
Oracle8 or Oracle8i database.
|
|
Prerequisites:
Oracle SQL Development
as well as knowledge of a procedural
programming language (e.g. C/C++, Basic,
COBOL). |
|
Overview:
The
course provides a comprehensive
examination of PL/SQL, Oracle's
procedural language extension to SQL.
PL/SQL offers procedural integrity,
security enhancements, and performance
gains in a client-server environment.
PL/SQL can be executed from SQL*Plus,
embedded within a host language, or
reside as stored objects on the server
and be called or executed by
applications. PL/SQL is also used to
implement programming logic in Oracle
Forms and Reports. PL/SQL will be of
particular interest to individuals
developing applications in a multi-tier,
client-server environment. Oracle
version 8 as well as new features for
Oracle8i are covered.
