It's All About Performance!

Integration testing is not what it used to be. The number of variables has increased exponentially. With the increase in application complexity, testing and monitoring applications can no longer be adequate at the superficial level.

Superficial? Just knowing which server is about to hit 100%, or that end-user response time is degrading, are just symptoms - just the tip of the ice berg.

It is critical to get to the root cause of the problem in order to fix it. In order to do this, the application must be viewed from a holistic sense. Using state-of-the-art  monitoring techniques, performance anomalies can be correlated and traced  for the entire round trip.

Traditional load testing and performance monitoring approaches are focused at the presentation layer. There is no direct correlation between virtual users on the UI, and the number and type of database calls. By the time a transaction reaches the database tier, the problems can go undetected unless you are specifically monitoring your database activity.
